“The fisherman of Santorini”
This is a reproduction of a fresco discovered at an archeological site in Santorini. The site was a Minoan settlement buried in volcanic ash after the volcano erupted triggered by an earthquake that shook the island.

“Komboloi” or worry bead
I thought they are the same prayer beads used by Muslims but Greeks use them only as fidget toys when they are worried.

The Star Clipper
Went to Corfu town today and saw this ship elegantly sailing away. It is a modern cruise ship for luxury-loving passengers in search for the traditions and romance of the golden era of sailing ships. Rate per passenger for a two-occupancy room is as high as 6,000USD for a 7-night cruise.

It was a very hot day today and while H was buying a Greek music CD in town, I went out of the shop for some fresh air, saw a chair and sat there. Seeing this saleslady standing by the door, I thought it was a good photographic opportunity.
