Day out in Cuneo
The Tuesday market
The shops of Cuneo
People
Friends enjoying a chat over an apero
Then they all stood up, paid the bill and disappeared
The hardworking Italian
The money he earns from his key-duplicating/knife-sharpening business is just enough to survive. He has to earn on the side to bring in the extra money…
In his little van, little things give him inspiration….

Hi Maria!
I’m Charito Basa, Chato for short to friends, and I work and live in Rome. I’m neither a photographer, nor a writer - I just enjoy watching and reading other people’s works. I work on gender, migration and development issues, and I’ve been of service to the FIlipino community in Italy for the last 24 years that I’m here.
Anyway, I don’t know how I bumped into your blogsite. It has been 3 hours now and I was just carried away by your photos! I will take time to read through, but let me finish my reporting these 2 weeks and I’ll get back to your works.
Lastly, complimenti for our great photos. Cuneo reminded me of the small mountain village where we have a tiny house, the porcini we had 2 weeks ago, for 1 full week… Okay, I’ll savour the rest once I finish my work.
All the very best to you,
Chato

Hello Chato!
It’s nice to meet another Pinay in Europe, hehehe! So you’ve been there for 24 years - come va? I’m sure you are very fluent in Italian now! That’s my dream!
I’m glad that you stayed more than 3 hours browsing my site! I have very few visitors but luckily, most of them end up becoming regular readers!
Like you, we also live in a mountain village (250 inhabitants) in the south of France, just at the frontier of Italy, in Liguria. In fact, we do our marketing in Ventimiglia. We love Italy so much that we almost relocated there just few months ago, only to change plans when H (for husband) got assigned in Paris. Anyway, having our home here is like living in these two beautiful countries at the same time - beautiful food, beautiful people…that’s the reason why my obsession in photography never stops!
Hope to see you more often here!
Best regards
Maria
